I am writing to urge our community to take a vital step that can save lives: registering as organ, eye, and tissue donors. With thousands of people in our state awaiting life-saving transplants, each registration has the potential to make an incredible difference.
Organ donation is a selfless act that provides hope and a second chance at life to those in need. By registering as donors, we ensure that in the event of our passing, our organs can be used to give others the gift of life. Additionally, eye and tissue donation can improve the quality of life for individuals in need of corneas, skin grafts, and bone grafts.
Registering as a donor is simple and can be done online in just a few minutes. I urge everyone in our community to take this important step today. You can register online through CORE at www.core.org/register or through Donate Life West Virginia at www.donatelifewv.org. By registering, you signal your willingness to give the ultimate gift: the gift of life.
Additionally, I encourage those who are able to consider giving a monetary gift to organizations like the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), which plays a vital role in facilitating organ donations and transplants. Your financial support enables CORE to continue their crucial work of coordinating donor matches, providing education on organ donation, and supporting transplant recipients throughout their journey.
By contributing to CORE, you directly impact the lives of individuals awaiting life-saving transplants and help ensure that organ deflation remains accessible and effective for those in need.
Together, let’s make a difference by supporting organizations like CORE that are at the forefront of saving lives through organ donation and transplantation.
